Verdict

From CoinSeek’s reviewed take on each tool. Neither is declared the winner.

Aave

Aave is a decentralised lending protocol where people can supply tokens to earn interest or borrow by posting collateral worth more than the loan. It runs as open-source smart contracts on public blockchains such as Ethereum, and supplied funds sit in those contracts rather than with a central custodian. Changes to the code go through onchain governance, where AAVE token holders vote on proposals, and AAVE can also be staked in a Safety Module meant to cover shortfalls. Developers can reach it through an API and SDK, so it suits both savers and builders. Pricing is not listed.

Best for: Earning interest on crypto; Borrowing against crypto collateral; Building lending into apps; Voting on protocol proposals

Sanctum

Sanctum is liquid staking infrastructure on Solana. Users can stake SOL and receive liquid staking tokens, while organizations can use its Staking-as-a-Service product to launch their own branded tokens and validators. It also offers Gateway, a service that gives developers control and visibility over how transactions are delivered on the network, plus a shared liquidity pool called Infinity for these tokens. The team has worked on Solana since 2021 and began with the stake pool program. Access is through a web interface and an API. Pricing is not listed. It mainly suits developers, protocol teams and SOL holders interested in liquid staking.

Best for: Staking SOL for liquid tokens; Launching custom branded LSTs; Developers optimizing Solana transactions; Protocol teams running white-label validators
